Background of the project Duoyuan Company is committed to providing customers with high-quality automotive products and services. In order to improve production efficiency and product quality, the company decided to introduce advanced robotic welding technology and apply it to the production of P40 pickup truck frames. This project mainly involves the assembly welding of pickup truck subassemblies and the robotic welding of the frame body.
Background of the project
Project Description In this project, the robot welding production line of Foton’s P40 pickup truck frame is mainly used in the following aspects: Assembly welding of sub-assemblies: For the welding of small sub-assemblies, we mainly use manual welding. These small parts include the connecting brackets of sub-assemblies such as frame crossbeams, longitudinal beams, shock absorbers, and water tank crossbeams, as well as welding and polishing of small parts. Robot welding of the main body of the frame: In order to improve the accuracy and efficiency of welding, we have introduced advanced robot welding equipment specifically for welding the main body of the frame.

Device Selection In terms of equipment selection, we used a total of 23 welding machines, with the following specific configurations: Beam body welding: Since the beam body mostly uses intermittent welds, we selected Lincoln ultra-low spatter welders imported from the United States, a total of 7 units. These welders can effectively reduce welding spatter and improve welding quality. Beam body and frame body welding: The welds of the beam body and frame body are mostly long welds, and we selected double-pulse OTC welders imported from Japan, a total of 16 units. These welders can provide stable welding quality and ensure the reliability of the frame.

Project outcome By optimizing the selection of processes and equipment, Foton successfully improved the welding quality and efficiency, ensuring the stability and reliability of the P40 pickup truck frame. Specific results include: Improved welding quality: The use of advanced welding equipment and processes significantly reduces welding defects and improves welding strength and aesthetics. Improved production efficiency: The introduction of robot welding has greatly improved production efficiency and shortened the production cycle.
